It all begins with a purpose.
Meet Serina, Dance Instructor, Choreographer, Performance Coach
A little background and my experience,
I started dancing way back in middle school, where I trained under some choreographers in San Diego, such as ones who helped choreograph for the Cheetah Girls movies. After middle school, however, I decided to focus on academics and lost sight in dance for a while. I found my passion in dance during my college years at the University of Florida.
During my time at the University of Florida, I was able to join dance clubs and dance crews by auditioning. I soon became a dance coordinator for a very large dance group, Filipino Student Association. I led and choreographed for about 75+ dancers, and also helped choreograph for my dance crew, Anomaly. We competed and won multiple state-wide shows and festivals.
After college, I took some time off dance, but knew I needed dance back in my life, especially in my adult years. So I decided to train and go to classes again. I trained under many well known choreographers from Orlando, Miami, and Atlanta. During my time in Florida, I was able to take multiple master classes to truly learn my craft.
Once I moved to Denver from Florida, I began teaching industry level heels classes at Denver Dance Center and Collabratory Complex. Bringing the knowledge that I’ve been able to learn from years of training and teaching, I’m here to grow a community that elevates and empower each dancer’s potential. My purpose is to cultivate a comfortable and fun space for all genders, sizes, and shapes to enjoy dance. My ultimate goal is to keep growing the confidence in every dancer that steps foot in my class.
